Now I’m sure you have all heard over and over again that it is absolutely essential to apply primer before any type of makeup, it helps the makeup stay on your longer and keeps it looking fresssh! Primer helps your foundation stays on top of your skin instead of seeping your pores. This is a step you do not want to skip when you want a nicely contoured and highlighted face.
Next you want to apply foundation that matches your skin. Makeup artists recommend you have the lightest version of you and the darkest version of you so that you can make a mix that will always match. Blend your foundation thoroughly, avoiding the mask face and blotchy skin.
Below are some diagram that can give a visualization of how the contouring process goes down. Remember the art of contouring is all about creating illusions.
Contour= darker color, so this where your bronzer or dark face powder goes according. If you do not want a full contoured face, then you can apply the highlighter( concealer, highlighter, lighter face powder) or contour in specific places.
This diagram shows where everything goes and kind of why it goes there.
(From the first pic in the first row going horizontally)
1.Apply a bronzer to the apples of your cheeks and highlighter on the hollows ( fish face cheeks) for a narrow face and more defined cheeks.
2. To slightly diminish the double shin, apply bronzer just on and below the jawline and a little towards the neck.
3. Highlighter, when placed from the tip of the chin going outwards in a shape of small triangle.
4. For a small and narrower nose, apply bronzer to the side of your nose and just between your eyes where your nose starts.
5. For the illusion of smaller nostrils, apply a highlighter to the small top of your nostrils.
